Mrs Judith Benson was in contact with us this afternoon. It is with the deepest of regret and with much sadness we have to inform you that Basil Benson passed away on Sunday morning the 3rd February 2013. Basil taught at KHS from 1954 -1962 and was held in the highest regard by many boys and colleagues of Kingham Hill.

We are saddened to learn of the recent death of Peter Hughes. Peter was at Kingham Hill from 1934 to 1938 in Clyde House. He was awarded Victor Ludorum in 1936 and went to Westminster Catering College and then into teaching.
We received the sad news from Kathkeen Farrant of the passing of Reginald James Farrant this November.
Reginald James Farrant was at Kingham Hill school between 1927 and 1935.
Some of you may have known Mr David Hanton personally many more will have benefited from the decisions he made whilst Chairman of the Kingham Hill School Governors in the late 70s through to the early 90's.
More sad news with the death of Mr Pat Gimore a teacher on The Hill during the 70's and 80's.
We are sorry to report Mrs Batchelor, the house parent in Durham during the 70's and early 80's has died after falling at home.
We are saddened to learn of the death of Alan Emberson. Alan used to teach maths, lead the DoE scheme and drive the mini bus.

It is with great sadness that we report the death of Sylvia Wells, wife of Tony, mother of Alex, Abbie Greg and Rebecca. She died on 11th August 2010 after a fairly short illness, during which she faced her death with great courage and dignity.
We were sad to learn today the news of the death of Hugo Ellis (9th July 1961 - 20th January 2011)
Rachel Ellis, Hugo's widow has invited anyone who knew Hugo to a memorial service to be held at St Peter's Church, Notting Hill, London, W11 on the 2nd of May 2011 at 2pm
Tony to his friends, the tuck-shop man to three generations of pupils at school. Tony joined the staff in November 1980 an ex-service man having served in Her Majesty’s armed services the Army; appointed as head chef in the school kitchens, the first position that he held for 10 years.
