President of the KHA 2008-2015
I have the privilege to collate a tribute to all those who knew Robert C Hughes, known affectionately as " Bob" Hughes, who came to Kingham-Hill School in 1930 as an eight year old, but dedicated his whole life after the second world war to the Kingham Hill Association in many ways.
Simon Briggs who knew Bob over 60 years has kindly helped me to give a valuable insight into Bob's life.
Sylvia Hughes and family would like to let you know that Bob Hughes died peacefully on 12 January 2015
Bob was for a great many years the President of the KHA (now Kingham Hillians) and dedicated his time selflessly in support of his fellow former pupils. He will be in our thoughts forever.
His funeral arrangements are as follows
Bob Vass, who was in Bradford 1938 to 1944, died on 13 October 2009 in Minehead. His funeral was in Taunton on 2 November. His Warden was Canon Douglas Horsefield, and he was taught by Messrs Durrant and Ball. He is survived by his five children, of which his two sons were at Kingham Hill: Chris (Durham 1968 - 1973) and Adrian (Durham 1967 - 1974).
