Musical experts were brought in as judges and this year’s theme was Valentine’s Day. Michael Durant, our Year 10 tutor, masterminded the Sheffield offering, ably supported by Tom Lewis, Callum Partridge and Bradley Lowe. I think it’s fair to say that the house produced a piece which set the record straight. Our rendition of ‘Stand by me’ was judged to be third overall, behind Durham (2nd) and winners Severn (well done girls). The judges commented that the Sheffield boys were marked out by the unity of their team performance with every member of the house singing up, in time and together. The boys have taken to claiming that, being the highest ranking boys house, we can justifiably claim the title of ‘Boys House Singing Winners’ – and why not!
