Clyde House

From September 2014 we will be welcoming back a familiar name to the Hill. Clyde House will return to the Hill following an absence of a number of years. Clyde is now our Junior Boys' Day House for boys aged between 11 and 14.

We are saddened to learn of the recent death of Peter Hughes. Peter was at Kingham Hill from 1934 to 1938 in Clyde House. He was awarded Victor Ludorum in 1936 and went to Westminster Catering College and then into teaching.

We are delighted to be able to bring you Chapter 12 - "Divided Loyalties" from the book by Ralph Mann on Kingham Hill

"During the seven years from 1885 to 1892, Charles Edward Baring Young attempted to hold together four separate, and sometimes conflicting, interests. Firstly, since his father’s death in December 1882, he was head of the family and had responsibilities towards his widowed mother, his two unmarried sisters, and his physically handicapped brother, Arthur.
