Ken Wingfield was awarded the MBE in 2005 for his work within the Prison Service for various charities in Leicestershire. These charities have benefited since 1979 by some £150,000. The money being raised by Glen Parvar Young Offenders Centre.

Ken Wingfield along with other staff at Glen Parver formed a committee 25 years ago to do this. Ken writes I'm proud that Kingham Hill School gave me these aims, drive and care for others' less fortunate than myself.

Order of the British Empire

The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, established on the 4 th June 1919 by King George V . The Order includes five classes in civil and military divisions; in descending order of seniority, these are:-

•  Knight Grand Cross / Dame Grand Cross GBE

•  Knight Commander/Dame Commander KBE or DBE

•  Commander CBE

•  Officer OBE

•  Member MBE
